Executive Director
Kerry is thrilled to serve as Executive Director of Shooting Star – profoundly changing outcomes for children and families, and enabling them to thrive. With a passion to make a difference, she has been honored to serve many organizations over the past 30 years, focused on children, families, education & poverty.
Kerry graduated from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management, and received an MBA from the University of St Thomas. She lives in Eden Prairie with her youngest daughter and attends Westwood Community Church.
Gretchen Revolinski
Administrative Assistant
Gretchen is proud to serve as an Administrative Assistant to The Shooting Star Foundation. Her commitment to the SSF and its mission is born from her own experience with her son Reece, who has experienced early interventions and support. She has seen how it has benefited his development and strives to provide similar support to other families.
In the past, Gretchen has practiced marriage and family therapy, specializing in providing therapy to the caregivers of family members of Alzheimer’s and early-onset dementia. Gretchen and her husband, Brad reside in Dayton along with their twin boys, Hudson and Reece.
Joe Biller

Joe is Managing Partner for American Century Investments, specializing in venture capital investing.
Joe and his family live in Chanhassen and attend Westwood Community Church, where they are actively involved in small groups and the church community.
Tom Letscher
Chairman of the Board
In addition to serving on the Board of The Shooting Star Foundation, Tom is vice chair of the Board of Directors and chair of the Executive Committee of the Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota. Tom and his family are devoted to serving those in need, and Tom joined the Board of The Shooting Star Foundation to help bring the mission of The Shooting Star Foundation to life.
Tom is a partner at Fox Rothschild LLP, a national law firm with 800 attorneys and 22 offices. Tom is a veteran medtech counselor and transaction attorney and chair of the firm’s medical technology practice. He has represented early-stage and middle-market public companies in dozens of financing, acquisition and sale transactions for more than 20 years. He assists medtech companies with formation, equity capital raising, technology acquisition and licensing, as well as mergers and acquisitions and related matters. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Governors of the University of St. Thomas School of Law and a Minnesota Director of the Evans Scholars Foundation.
Ben Kruger
Board Member
Ben is proud to serve on the board and is deeply committed to achieving The Shooting Star Foundation’s mission. Ben and his wife Beth have a direct connection to the many challenges that families of children with special needs experience. At age 3, their son Cole was diagnosed with Autism, and through the early intervention of caring and skilled professionals at St. David’s Center, his life was transformed. Years later, Cole continues to thrive and reach new heights in all areas of his life. With deep gratitude, Ben and Beth see a direct connection to their core purpose and the brighter future that The Shooting Star Foundation is resolved to create for the families they support.
Ben is Senior Vice President of Renewables for Roeslein Renewables. He leads Roeslein’s Global Renewable Natural Gas and Regenerative Agriculture platforms. Ben has a passion for agriculture and conservation and has worked in the industry his entire career, including growing up on his family’s dairy farm in Central Wisconsin. Ben and Beth, along with their children Morgan, Clara, and Cole reside in Victoria, Minnesota and are members of Westwood Community Church.
Desmond Nation
Board Member
Desmond has worked in the healthcare industry focusing on strategic partnerships and investments. Desmond currently works at Allina Health in corporate development. Prior to Allina, Desmond worked at Mayo Clinic in corporate development. He was a Venture Lead at UnitedHealth Group within their Emerging Businesses R&D Ventures Group. Desmond has also held corporate development and commercial marketing leadership roles within the medical device sector working at Medtronic and Olympus. He brings over 20 years of broad leadership experience with extensive experience executing complex transactions and developing business models across healthcare and financial services. Desmond earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Economics from Dartmouth College, a Master of Public Administration from Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University and Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Mike Boyle

Mike is CEO of Unrestricted Marketing, an Eden Prairie based brand experience agency that prides itself on enhancing lives and communities by building powerful experiences for non-profits throughout the country. With a strong passion for how nonprofits seek to improve the quality of life, Mike joined the Shooting Star Foundation to help make a difference for brighter futures for all Shooting Star children and their families.
Mike has more than 15 years of entrepreneurial work ethic and relentless creative drive. His “work to live” philosophy is evident in the way he and his team seeks adventure both at work and at home, while also recognizing the importance of giving back to the communities they serve.
A longtime resident of the Twin Cities, Mike and his wife, Nancy, live in Chaska with their three kids: Jack, Jameson and Jaylyn.
Kevin O’Leary
Board Member
Kevin works at Marsh McLennan Agency as a Business Insurance Consultant where he lives out his passion of networking and helping businesses with their Risk Management. Before his career in Business Insurance, Kevin had a career for 12 years in Medical Sales working for Arthrex and Stryker Orthopedics. In his role at Marsh he is extremely dedicated to service and helping businesses reach their goals. His highly motivated personality gives businesses the advisory partnership they deserve. He loves connecting the dots and networking to show value and making a positive difference in communities.
Kevin is married to his wonderful wife, Stephanie, for 14 years and has three very active boys. He loves to spend time with his family and coaching his three boys in hockey, football, and golf. He also has a passion for on ice hockey instructing and mentorship at Hockey Ministries International (HMI), where he has served for 18 years and is on the HMI Board. Living out his faith and making a difference in people’s lives is what motivates him.
Kevin is very proud to serve on the board for Shooting Star Foundation, as it continues to grow and makes a huge positive impact in so many lives! He felt called to join the board because of the amazing heartbeat behind the foundation’s mission that help children and families in need!

Cynthia exemplifies the true spirit of the Shooting Star Foundation, embodying a passion for serving children in need and a commitment to creating a better, brighter future for the next generations.
Cynthia works as Corporate Venture Capital investor at Cargill. She focuses on investing in human health and nutrition, next-generation food & feed, and bioeconomy. She uses innovation and technology to enhance the quality of human life. With her diverse global background spanning the food and healthcare industries, Cynthia’s expertise in M&A, private equity investing, and quantitative trading has been invaluable to her contributions at Delta Dental of Minnesota, General Mills, and Whitebox Advisors – a global Hedge Fund.
Cynthia also devotes much of her time and talent to various organizations. Serving as a board member of inspection drone company Flyability, AI food tech company Profile Print, and Minnesota Oral Health Coalition, she actively contributes to their missions.
Cynthia’s family lives in Plymouth, and they have a four-year-old son named Eli, whom she fondly calls a “funny little dude.” Cynthia loves to travel and gains inspiration from the people, food, and cultures she encounters. She enjoys interior design, photography, film, and creating artwork in her free time. She also engages in fitness and adventure sports as hobbies to have fun and stay healthy.
Kayla Schulz
Board Member
Kayla is an occupational therapist who has spent her career serving children and their families in both outpatient and school-based settings throughout the Twin Cities. She was first introduced to the Shooting Star Foundation in its early years having the great privilege of providing occupational therapy services to some of the foundation’s grant recipients at Fraser. Having seen the profound impact the Shooting Star Foundation has on families and their ability to access crucial care for their children, Kayla is honored to join the board and continue to serve these families in a new way.
Kayla lives with her husband, Jonathan, and two sons, Bennett and Nolan in Lakeville, Minnesota.
Shane Slominski
Board Member
Shane is a Partner at Tonka Bay Equity Partners, a private equity firm based in the Twins Cities that invests in entrepreneur-owned businesses in industries such as highly-engineered manufacturing, value-added distribution and business services. He is responsible for identifying new investment opportunities and also serves on numerous partner company boards of directors where he works closely with management teams to execute strategic growth plans.
Shane previously worked for Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He and his wife live in North Oaks, Minnesota with their six children. They are passionate about supporting causes that benefit children with special needs and international adoption. Shane also supports and is a past board member of Friends of FANA, Minnesota, a non-profit that provides financial assistant for the FANA orphanage in Bogotá, Colombia.
Shannon Horgan
Board Member
Shannon is a healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience in insurance benefits, marketing and new product innovation. His career has centered around identifying ways to simplify healthcare, finding creative ways to drive transformative growth and engaging consumers in new and exciting ways to drive better health outcomes. He has led marketing, product and innovation efforts at various market-leading health organizations including Centene, UnitedHealthcare and Aetna/CVS. Most recently, he was Chief Growth Officer for Government Employees Health Association (GEHA), a non-profit health plan focused specifically on the health and well-being of federal employees nationwide and currently heads up strategy for Aetna’s federal employee programs.
Shannon is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is an avid movie buff and, though he lived in Los Angeles and New York form many years, has remained loyal to all of the Minnesota sports teams. He currently resides in Chanhassen with his wife and two children, Ella and Kaden. As a father of two, the impact that the Shooting Star Foundation is having on families with special needs children really resonated with him. He was inspired by the founders Joe and Melissa’s story and their passion to make a difference in the lives of families with facing similar challenges. He is especially excited to use his experience in healthcare to help the foundation advance their mission to make an impact in the community.
