Since the beginning we have hosted an annual casual social event for donors, sponsors, and partners like you to get together for families. You know, you’ve been there! This year will be a little different and although we are disappointed we can’t see your shining faces, we are so excited about what’s next for SSF.

Please mark your calendar for Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 7 PM CST and join us for our first ever star-studded virtual fundraiser from the comfort of your own home! STAY IN THE SWING OF EDUCATION & HEALTH

The COVID-19 crisis has impacted everyone in significant ways. Children with special needs are particularly susceptible to falling behind their peers without in-school learning and specialized educators.

Further, because of social distancing guidelines, they have been unable to receive additional therapies they need to thrive. Even with telehealth offerings, low income families are unable to afford the equipment and technology that would allow their child to continue therapy virtually, widening the digital learning gap for the most vulnerable.

The Shooting Star Foundation was proud to help these families “stay in the swing” of learning during the COVID-19 summer with a $20,000 donation to telehealth and educational therapy providers.

As the back to school uncertainties linger, The Shooting Star Foundation is making a concerted effort to keep children with special needs in the swing of education with grants and technology allowing parents the financial flexibility to make healthcare decisions with their providers to ensure their child receives the best possible care. Face-to face when they can and virtually when they need to, ensuring our bright future for all children.
